T.A.D.S. proudly presents John B. Keane's 'The Year of the Hiker' as our second major production of 2024, running Tuesday 19th November to Saturday 23rd November.
Directed by Mary Sherwin, with a seasoned cast, this story, set in rural Ireland in the 1960s, tells the tale of a father, who having deserted his family 20 years prior, reappears on his daughter’s wedding day. ‘Hiker’ Lacey, knows he is dying and comes home to seek forgiveness from his family.
'The Year of the Hiker' is a celebration of the struggles and joys of rural life, exploring themes of community, identity, and the impact of change on traditional values. With Keane's signature wit and warmth, the play unfolds through the journey of its characters.
